 Business process automation and implications to the HR practices



 

Information technology, as well as the continuous changes, occurring in the technological environment would affect business organizations in numerous ways and it provides an alarm to the organizations regarding the necessity in integrating technological advancements to the business processes to be in line with contemporary environmental changes.

Therefore, technology has affected towards changing the conventional businesses processes towards more techno-oriented context where several manual processes were also transformed to automated services.

For instance, as far as banking industry is concerned, most of the business processes which were carried out by the employees were automated with the introduction of new teller machines, cash deposit machines, digital banking applications and so on.

Therefore, these processes were also changed by replacing human beings with the automated processes using machines (Manfred Schmitz, et al., 2018).

There are several changes occurred in the HR practices as well along with the automation processes where the job scopes and the duties as well as responsibilities of the employees were changed accordingly. Therefore, there were several changes occurred for the job descriptions of the employees and new tasks were also added to the job scopes of the employees. Hence, continuation of training sessions and continuous improvement is significant to adopt such new changes to the job scope (Somayya Madakam, et al., 2019).

Attendance monitoring

Attendance monitoring practices are also affected by the automation processes where the finger print and face recognition methods were implemented along with the data capturing systems. Recruitment and selection processes were also changed where distance interviewing methods, online recruitment campaigns were introduced to cater to larger number of applicants as well as an initiative of cost reduction.

On the other hand, employee trainings were also converted to online platforms in a way that the employees. Employees are required to be integrated with the information technology initiatives where the requirement for job redesigning was also emerged.
